The Wishing Stairs

The legend goes that if you climb the twenty nine steps leading up to the school dormitory, counting each step aloud, and find a twenty ninth, a spirit will appear and grant you a wish.

The movie takes place in a girl's art school and focuses on two friends studying ballet, however their friendship soon turns sour when they find themselves competing for a single spot in a Russian ballet school. Yun Jin-seong played by Sung Ji Hyo, remembering the old legend of the "Wishing Stairs" wishes for a place in the prestigious arts school, and in a shocking turn of events, she gets it, at the cost of her best friend, Kim So-hee's life. However, it's only when the extremely odd character of Eom Hye-ju wishes the dead girl back, that an unspeakable evil is released.

The film itself seems to mirror the ballet "Giselle", which girls in the film are studying, as well as drawing upon the classic short story "The Monkey's Paw". So-hie as Giselle, and Jin-sung as Albrecht. Unhappy with always having to play the "prince" to So-hee's princess, Jin-sung betrays So-hee, which in turn leads to So-hee being crippled and commits suicide after her friend Jin-sung confesses she has hated her all along. When So-hee's spirit is wished back, Jin-sung is haunted by So-hee's ghost, the love she once felt for her friend warped by Jin-sung's hurtful actions.

As in the prior two movies, this film has strong indications of friendship, betrayal, and the taboo of lesbian affairs in an all-girls school.

Kim Jeong Hoon

Kim Jeong Hoon (born January 20, 1980), also known in Japan as "John Hoon", is a South Korean singer and actor. He initially rose to fame as a member of Korean duo UN debuting with the single Voice Mail in 2000. After the duo disbanded in 2005, his fame increased as an actor starring in Goong, a drama based on comic book of the same name.

He debuted as a member of Korean duo UN in 2000, an acronym for "United N-generation". After six years of success, the duo officially announced that they were disbanding in September 2005, and Hoon announced that he was going to pursue an acting career instead. Hoon had stated that the conditions of the Korean music industry prevented him from pursuing music he truly wanted to do.

He originally wanted to be a laboratory researcher. Hoon didn't realize that he would become an actor and singer. By 2005 he had already begun starring in Korean dramas, such as sitcom Orange and 남과 여 (A Man and a Woman) in 2004. He had said his final dream is to become a renowned movie director.

He previously attended Seoul National University (College of Dentistry) until he dropped out to focus on his acting career. He is now a senior in Chung-Ang University, where he majors in acting.

Yoon Eun-Hye

Yoon Eun-Hye (Korean: 윤은혜, Hanja: 尹恩惠, born October 3, 1984) is a South Korean actress, singer, entertainer and model. She debuted as a member of the popular girl group Baby V.O.X, staying with the group from 1999 - 2005. She has since moved on to acting, receiving popularity and fame from her role as a crown princess on the drama Princess Hours, as well as her role as the main protagonist in the drama The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince.
In addition to her acting and singing, Yoon Eun-Hye graduated from Kyung Hee Cyber University in February 2007, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Tourism Management.

When the girl group Baby V.O.X dropped a member due to a scandal, Yoon Eun-Hye was chosen to replace her. Yoon Eun-Hye was by far the youngest member in the group, debuting at the age of 14. She recorded 6 albums with the band before leaving the group in July 2005 in order to pursue an acting career.

Besides singing in the band, Baby V.O.X, Yoon Eun-Hye lent her voice to Mighty Mouth, for their song "Saranghae" ("I Love You"). She, however, does not appear in the music video. Yoon Eun-Hye performed with Mighty Mouth in 2008 at her fan meeting. In 2008, Yoon Eun-Hye sang 'Salad Song' with Korean actor Lee Dong Gun to promote Samsung CF.

Yoon Eun-Hye has played a small role on the sitcom Nonstop 4, where she had a small role with MC Mong, before moving on to became a regular guest for the variety show X-Man on SBS. While on X-Man, she became involved in a romantic scandal with popular K-pop singer Kim Jong Kook which received coverage from a local newspaper. Although "X-Man" raised her public profile, she left the show a year later in order to pursue acting. Eun Hye also played Kim Jong Kook's love interest in his music video "Saying You Love Me" which was released in July 2006.
Eun Hye had her first major acting role in popular Korean drama, Princess Hours (also known as "Goong"). Initially, fans of the Goong manhwa had questioned her acting ability, which lead to controversy. The success of the drama also appeared unclear as it competed with My Girl which also boasted casting of popular celebrities such as Lee Jun Ki and Lee Dong Wook. The drama began with average ratings, but as it continued, viewership increased to 28.3% nationally, leading to an extension of the first season (from 20 to 24 episodes) and a Princess Hours special on MBC. Although Yoon and the other main actors initially agreed to work on a second season of Princess Hours, only one of them officially agreed to do so. Another director of a different company eventually filmed a spin-off series with brand new characters, known as Goong S which was not to be confused with the actual Goong sequel planned by the original director and company.
Due to the success of her first drama, Yoon has continued acting in other dramas such as The Vineyard Man. Like most Korean dramas at that time[citation needed], The Vineyard Man initially suffered from low ratings due to strong competition from the MBC 45th anniversary drama Jumong; however, the drama ratings gradually increased and reached a 15.6% on its finale.
Yoon's second lead role was for MBC's Monday/Tuesday drama The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince that began to air in July 2007, where she plays the employee Go Eun-chan at a coffee shop, who was once a master of Taekwondo. With her short haircut and tomboyish ways, she is presumed to be a boy by the owner of the shop, thus leading to romantic complications. The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince garnered higher ratings than her first series Princess Hours. Coffee Prince reached the viewership ratings as high as 32.1% in Seoul, making it number one for its timeslot and 29.9% nationwide. During the time of her popularity peaking, Yoon was also diagnosed with pernicious anemia.
Complications also ventured out around the same time with Yoon's own management company. Yoon eventually filed the second certification of contents (COC) to cancel her contractual agreement with her management company, Eight Peaks. When asked to reveal the information behind the second COC, Yoon's counsel stated, "if Eight Peaks refused to cancel the contract then they would not hesitate to file a lawsuit, suing them for their refusal." The contents of the first COC stated that in January 2007 Yoon was confirmed to be starring in the MBC drama Que Sera Sera and had even participated and completed the script reading and rehearsal for the upcoming shoot. However, Eight Peaks had canceled Yoon's involvement in Que Sera, Sera in order for Yoon to star in an Eight Peaks' self produced drama.
Consequently, after the cancellation of Yoon's involvement in Que Sera, Sera, Yoon took a two day vacation to Gangwon-do in March. Eight Peaks claimed that they had no knowledge of this so-called incident and spread a rumor of Yoon's irresponsibility online which damaged her reputation. Yoon's manager, Park Geun-Soo has stated "the second COC includes evidence to support the disagreeable actions made by Eight Peaks." Those actions included the improper handling and distribution/division of earnings and proceeds as well as the unilateral (one-sided) manner of making and carrying out decisions which caused immense problems.
After it had been reported that Yoon was paid 20 million won per episode for starring in Coffee Prince, she was enable to join South Korea's A-list of stars who also are members of the 20 million won club, which includes of Bae Yong-joon, Kwon Sang Woo, Ko Hyun Jung, and Song Il kook. Due to the success of Coffee Prince, Yoon Eun Hye got a huge fan following not only in Korea, but also in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and China. She has recently visited Japan to meet her fans and inaugrate her fan club. Her growing popularity can also be seen in the Korean entertainment as many business conglomerates are vying to get Eun Hye to be the product ambassador, where she was later dub as the "CF Queen" in Korea.
After having settled the disputes with Eight Peaks through careful negotiation, Yoon later sign with her new management agency, Kraze Entertainment. As a result, she was able to focus on her acting career, which will be Kraze Entertainment's focal point of attention. Her successful performance in 'Coffee Prince', has put her in the list of being one of the best actresses in Korean entertainment.

Joo Ji Hoon

Joo Ji Hoon (or Ju Ji Hoon, born on May 16, 1982) is a popular model and actor from South Korea. He is well known for portraying Crown Prince Lee Shin in Princess Hours (Goong), which was his acting debut.
Before entering the entertainment industry, he studied at Tongwon College, majoring in e-Business. He was known as "Handy Man" in his school for his tall height of 6'2".

Joo started out as a model. In 2003, he went into modeling and advertised for brand names like Calvin Klein, Levi's and Reebok. He has won many awards for modelling.

2006: Breakthrough Success
Ji Hoon's debut drama was "Old Love," but it was Princess Hours that made him notable throughout Asia. In Princess Hours, also known as Goong, he portrayed Prince Shin, a cold-hearted prince who was forced to marry a regular town girl. He starred alongside former Baby V.O.X. member Yoon Eun Hye and UN member Kim Jeong Hoon. Fans of the manhwa initially protested the casting of Joo into the lead role, but the drama was successful. He won the MBC Drama Award for "Best New Actor." The success led to a spinoff, Goong S.

2007: The Devil
In 2007, Joo starred in the 2007 KBS drama The Devil, alongside popular actress Shin Min-a. In The Devil, he portrays a lawyer. He also cut his hair, which use to be rather shaggy, into a neat trim that framed his long face. He also lost 5 kg by eating only chicken and exercising three times a day. In March, The Devil was one of the three most highly anticipated dramas, along with The Thank You and Witch Amusement.
The actor was selected in 2007 to be the New Asian Star of 2007 at the 1st Astar TV Drama Awards which was held on March 30, 2007 at the COEX in Seoul. New Asian Stars have been chosen from Asian countries such as South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, and Thailand. Astar TV said the six were chosen for their high recognition in their respective countries, their celebrity status, and potential to emerge as top Asian stars. Singer/Actor Kamenashi Kazuya was chosen among Japanese stars, while Fan Bing Bing represented China. Actor Wilson Chan was chosen among Taiwanese stars, actor Daniel Wu among Hong Kong stars and model/actress Patcharapa Chaichua among Thai stars.

2008: Antique
Antique is the debut movie of Ji Hoon. Joo Ji Hoon will play the part of the bakery owner, Kim Jae Wook will play the part of a genius pâtissier, young actor Yoo Ah In will play a boxing champion turned apprentice, Choi Ji Ho will portray a trouble making bodyguard, and they all come together to run the cake shop, ‘Antique.’ The movie is set to open in theaters on November 13, 2008.

2009: Drugs scandal
He was charged but was not arrested in April 25, 2009 on charges of illegal drug use, particularly Ecstasy and Ketamine. He claimed that he was "sorry" for what he did and is reflecting on it.
Kukinews claimed on April 26 that Ju told police, “I took drugs twice last year in March and April with these people, but I didn’t afterwards because of fear. [...] I’m deeply regretful and am reflecting on my actions.”
On the morning of June 23, Joo Ji-hoon appeared in court to receive his sentencing after pleading guilty to drug use of ecstasy and ketamine, and his fans can relax, since he got off pretty lightly.
His punishment is six months of jail with one year of probation (a suspended sentence) and 120 hours of community service, plus a penalty of 360,000 won (which is only approx US $280). That’s lighter than the one year and 440,000 won fine he had sought earlier this month. What this means is, he gets to suspend his six months of hard time while he is on probation for a year; if he remains clean (of any crime, not just drugs), the offense is essentially cleared and he doesn’t have to serve his initial sentence. To clarify: He is NOT going to jail — not yet, and if he’s clean for his probation, not ever.
The decision was explained, “The nature of the crime is by no means light. However, he has reflected deeply on the crime and has not taken any drugs since the time a year and two months ago. Also, many fans from within the country and from overseas have appealed for an appropriate handling of the matter and sent petitions.”
Joo’s lawyer explained, “Of course he must accept the price of his crime, but wrong information kept coming out and exaggerated him as a habitual user, and some of it was unfair.”
As for his partners in crime, actress and trafficker Yoon Seol-hee was given three years in jail, while model and financer Yeh Hak-young and the unidentified Mr./Ms. Jeon were both given two and a half years of jail, but with four years of suspended-sentence probation, plus two years of regular probation and 200 hours of community service.
